First meeting of 2015

Welcome back! Our first meeting will be this Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 7 pm in the Edwards Room of Anabel Taylor Hall. As always, all are welcome! We will be planning out our semester. Hope to see you there!

End of semester potluck

Please join us for a semi-potluck end of semester dinner at 7 pm on December 10, 2014 in the Edwards Room of Anabel Taylor Hall. If you don’t have a chance to make anything to bring, don’t worry about it and please come anyway! We hope to see everyone there!

Are you saved?

On December 3, 2014 the OCF will be hosting a lecture by Bishop Michael of the diocese of New York and New Jersey. He will be talking about the Orthodox view of salvation and the talk is entitled “Are you saved: An Orthodox Christian Perspective”.

The lecture will begin at 7:30 pm in the chapel of Anabel Taylor Hall. All are welcomed and invited!

Fall 2014 Retreat Details: Relationships Rooted in Christ

Relationships Rooted in Christ
Prepare to cast your worldly cares and stresses into the raging waters of Lake Oneida and join your fellow Orthodox brothers and sisters for a weekend of prayer, worship, education, and overall awesomeness at St. Andrew’s Camp near Syracuse.
All are invited. The cost is free. The topic will be “Relationships Rooted in Christ” with theological and practical insights offered by Fr. John Malcom.
Arrival begins Friday November 7 at 6pm and the retreat will go through Sunday morning Liturgy. Confirm your attendance on the retreat Facebook page here or reply to grf44@cornell.edu  directly. Book Club

We have started holding a book club on Thursday evenings.

The book is currently The Spiritual Life and How to Be Attuned to It and readings will be made available through our email list, so don’t worry if you don’t have a copy! The book club meets from 7 -9 PM  394 Uris Hall (the Sociology Grad Library, if late just knock).

Upcoming Events

With the semester staring this coming week we have a few upcoming events!

 

Monday August 25: We will be at the Spirit of Cornell event hosted by CURW in the courtyard by Balch Hall. Come and visit!

 

Wednesday August 27: Our first regular meeting of the year will be at 7 pm in the Edwards Room of Anabel Taylor Hall. This is an important meeting as we plan for the semester and entire year ahead of us.

 

Saturday September 6: BBQ at Myers Park, followed by Vespers at Holy Apostles. (Rides will be available. )
